MRS. FLEMING, CHRISTCHURCH.

On Tuesday, January 14, at Bcaley street, Christchurch (writes an occasional correspondent), the death took place of Mrs. Fleming, wife cf ex-Sergeant Fleming, late of Gore and Quetnstown. Deceased was. in failing health when she came with her family to settle in Christch-urch, about' eighteen months ago, and though she received the most skilful medical treatment her condition became more serious of late, and for the past month no hopes were entertained of her recovery. Mrs. ' Fleming was born about 53 years ago, in the -\i-.inity of Templemore, Tipperary. As Miss Ellie Mahjer she came to the colony about 35 years ago with the seoondcontingent of the family of twelve brothers end sisters, some of whom have predeceased her, including the late Mrs. P. Brophy, AucMand. Cheerful, unaffected and hospitable, Mrs. Fleming was typical of the pco/ije of her natiVe county. Her agreea! le manner,, in 'which there was a touch of native humor, combined with a kind disposition, won her many and sincere frierd-. She diod fortified by the rites of the Church, and the humeral took place after Reqjiium Mass at St. Mary's, Manchester street, at 9 a.m. on Wednesday last. The buri 1 service was conducted by Rev. Father Hcare. Mrs. Fleming leaves a husband an/I two daughters to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. The family have re--ceivod numerous messages of sympathy in thrir rereavement :rom all parts of the Colony where deceased was known.— R.l. P.
