(From our travelling correspondent.) October 16. The Rev: Father Cahill, who has been laid up for some time with influenza, is now able to get about again and perform his many duties. The Very Rbv. Father Clune lately brought to a close successful missions in Martinborough. and Featherston churches in this parish. Many improvements have been effected in and around the church and presbytery during the last few months, chief amongst which has been the installation, of gas in the churcli, and the laying of an excellent drainage system at <Jhe presbytery. - The question of finishing the improvements . has been decided on, and the buildings are to be painted" during the coming Great sympathy was felt for Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Benin in the loss they had sustained by the death of their daughter, who passed away a few weeks ago. The deceased, b"y her bright and happy disposition, had established herself as a great favorite with her school-

fellows in particular and the townspeople in general. Proof of this was shown by the large number of those who took part in the funeral, the cortege being quite the largest seen in the district for some time. The services at the gj'ave were conducted biy the Rev. Father Cahill, of Carter ton, and Very Rev. D(ean McKenna, of Master ton.— ft.l.P.
