Messrs. Stronach, Morris, and Co. report :— Wheat.— Owing to the cables from Home prices have hardened, as the millers say that they are losing money an every ton of flour they produce. They are just buying from hand to mouth, and will not otter tor lines of any size. Prices have hardened, but millers.. are holding off and will not otter at present more than** from 4s 2d to 4s 3d at country stations. Farmers are still holding for higher prices, and business is only resulting' in speculators' lines. Best seed brings from 4s 9d - to 5s ; prime milling, 4s 4d to 4s _^ 7d (ex store). ; medium and best whole fowl wheat, 3s lid to 4s 3d. Oats.— The oat market is still very firm, althougjh not much business is passing. Seed lines are most inquired for, but there is also some little demand for feed oats. Prime milling, 3s to 3s 2d ; good to best feed, 2s lid to 3s'l-Jd ; inferior to medium, 2s fid to 2s lOJd per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes*— Almost sM potatoes coming forward -are meeting with good demand and a. ready sale on arrival. Good seed, potatoes are in strong -demand, and anything especially in British Queen and up-to-date varieties are much, inquired for. Choice, £4 5s to £4 10s ; gpod table, £4 to £4 5s ; medium to good, £3 l's ; inferior, £2 10s to £2 15s. Chaff!— The market is still very firm for really prime quality, sales having taken place at. up to £5 10s.
