TEMUKA
(From our own correspondent.) The weekly meeting of the Temuka Catholic Club was held on Tuesday evening last. There was a' large attendance of members, and Mr. W. Barry presided. The programme for the evening was ' Impromptu speeches.' This was the first time a meeting of this kind was held *by the club, nevertheless the majority of the members acquitted themselves very welt. Arrangements for the Catholic sports meeting on Empire Day are now well forward. An attractive programme has been drawn up, and as the funds are to be given towards a very laudable object— the paying off of the 'debt on the presbytery — it is to be hoped that the gathering will be a great success.
