This has heen pioven over and ov?r again to be a lie having no semblance of a basis to lest on. Yet nine out of eveiy ten Protestants believe that every member of the Society of Jesus shapes his conduct by this maxim. So believing they are not surpii*ecl to hear these Jesuits have poisoned a Pope whose policy they disapproved of, and have not hesitated to employ agents to murdei the heir of a throne whom they wished to get rid of.'
