Boys and girls can have lots of fun playing the following game, and will find some of the questions are not very easy to answer either. The questions are given out on slips of paper, without the answers, and the one who gets the gieatest number of correct answers is the winner of the game. 1. What is the most level tree ? — Plane. 2. Which tree suggests thoughts of the ocean ?—? — Beech. 3. What tree would we prefer on a very cold day ? — Fir. 4. What tree contains a domestic animal ?—Mahogany. 5. What tree might very properly wear a glove ? — A palm. 6. What tree is a pronoun ?— Yew. 7. Which tree is a tale-teller ? — Peach. 8. Which tree is an insect ? — Locust. ( J. Which is the dandy among trees ? — Spruce. 10. Which tree is an invalid ?— Pine. 11. What tree never is bare-footed ? — Sandal wood. 12. Which tree can best remember numbers ? — Date. 13. Which tree has passed through lire ? Ash. 14. Which is the most ancient tree ? — Elder.

How to divide an apple into several parts without breaking the rind. Begin by inserting the needle where the stem joins the fruit. Bring out the needle through rind midway between the point of entrance and the bud-mark at the top of the fruit. Then insert the needle in the apple again by the same hole through which it had just come out. Force the needle through the bud-mark at top of apple. Re-insert needle in same hole. Push it out through rind at side, as previously directed. End by pushing needle out through'the firs% hole made by it in the apple, at the stem. Then take both ends of the thread and draw it out, by which means the apple will be divided into two parts. In the same manner you may divide it into as many parts as' you please, and yet the rind will remain entire. Present the apple to any one to peel, and it will immediately fall to pieces, to their great surprise.

Lay three lumps of sugar or any other eatable, on a table, at a little distance apart, and cover each with a hat. Take up the first hat, and, removing the sugar, put it into your mouth, letting the company see that you swallow it ; then raise the second hat, and eat the sugar which was under that ; then serve the third morsel in the same manner. Now ask the company to choose which hat (hey would like the three pieces of sugar to "be under, and when one hat has been chosen, put it on your head, and ask them if they do not think they are under it.
