DUNNE— SWAN. t A u , t t uiet wedding was solemnised on July 24, at St. Joseph s Cathedral, Dunedin, when Miss Annie E bwan, youngest daughter of the late Mr. R. Swan, of Dunedin, was mairied to Mr. St. Julius J. Dunne, youngest son of Mr.- John Dunne, of Balclutha. The ceremony was performed by the R«v. Father cottey, Adm. The bride, who looked very pretty, was given away by her brother, Mr. A. L ft* wan, and was charmingly attired in a handsome gown of white cluffou silk, with high corselet bodice and folded belt of white velvet, and handsomely trimmed with costly silk lace stitchings and French knots. She also woie the usual wreath and veil, and a handsome descent brooch (the gift of the bridegroom). The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Dunne, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Annie Moloney, each ot whom wore a handsome pearl brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Mi. A L. Pike as best man; assisted by Mr. J. Kennedy Ross. As the bride and her maids entered the church the ' Bridal March' was played and on leaving the church Mendelssohn's 'Wedding March ' was played by the oiganist, Mr. A. \ allis. Only immediate relatives and some old friends of both families were invited to the ceremony After the ceremony the paity drove to the Palace Hotel, where the reception (at which over 50 were present) was held. The chief toast, that of the health and happiness of the bride and bridegroom, was proposed by the Rev. Father C'ofiey in a very felicitous speecb, and responded to by the bridegroom. During the afternoon songs were sung by Misses A Moloney Murie, and Messrs. Duncan, Siigo, Melville, xtoss, and others, the accompaniments being played by Miss Dunne. The happy pair left by the afternoon train for Queenstown. The presents were numerous and costly.
