The object of the Marist Fathers in this oountry, as in their oolleges in Europe and America, is to impart to their pupils a thoroughly Religiouß and a sound Literary education, which will enable them in after-life to discharge their duties with honour to Religion &nd Society, and with oredt and advantage to themselves. Students are prepared for the N.Z. University Junior and Senior Civil Service, Medical Entrance, Solicitors' General Knowledge, Bank and all other Public Examinations. Students not preparing for the learned Professions have the advantage of a Special Commercial Course, under efficient management, where they are taught all that will be of uae in mercantile pursuits. Special attention ia also paid to the teaching of Physical Science, for which purpose the Colege possesses a large Laboratory and Demonstration Hall. Vocal Music, Elocution, Drawing, and all other branches of a Liberal Eduoation receive due attention. Physical culture is attended to by a competent Drill Instructor who trains the students three times a week in Brill, Kifle Practice, _ and Gymnastics. A large and well -equipped Gymnasium is attaohed to the College. The religious and. moral training of the pupils iB an object of special care, and partioular attention iB bestowed on the teaching of Christian Doctrine. A well-appointed Infirmary attaohed to the College iB under the oharge of the Sisters of Compassion, from -whom in case of illness all students receive the most tender and devoted care, and who at all timeß pay particular attention to the younger and more ielioate pupils, who without saoh care would find the absence of home comfortß very trying.
