At St. Joseph's Church, Temuka, on Sunday, the Rev. Father Kerley announced the sad news that Very Rev. Dean Foley had again to take to his bed, the pains from which he was previously suffering having recurred. The altar boys of Temuka, Kerrytown, and Pleasant Point were treated to a day's outing on Tuesday by the Rev. Father Rockliff. The party spent a very pleasant day in Timaru The sea bathing and boating in the harbor were much enjoyed by the boys. The annual concert in connection with the convent of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Temuka, will this year be held on Monday, December IS. Those who have charge of the programme, arc now hard at work in the preparation of the same, and are endeavoring to make it, if possible, even more attractive than in past Yesterday afternoon Masters Joseph Spillane and Frank Twomey, pupils of St. Joseph's School, Temuka, waited on the Rev. Father Rockliff, and on behalf of the school children asked him to accept a very nice rug as a small token of their esteem and good wishes. The rev. gentleman expressed his surprise and thanked them ■very heartily, and later on visited the school and repeated his thanks to the school childien. At a committee meeting of the Catholic Young Men's Club, held on Monday evening last, the secretary Mr J Monarty, reported that he bad represented the society at the closing of the Cieraldine Debating Club's session held the previous week, lie intimated to the meeting that it had been, proposed by the (Jcraldine Club to hold a debate during next year with the Temuka Society. .
