(From our own correspondent.) Manch 25. Wednesday, March 22, was the anniversary of the death of the, Very Rev. Dean Kirk, whose name will be ever inseparably associated with the parish of Wangaiuii, and on Thjursidiay a Solemn .Requiem Mass was celdbra^ted for the repose of his soul. There was a largo congregation, and several of the clergy from other parishes were present The Mass was celebrated by Very Rev. Father Power, of H'awera, Rev. Fartifrer Treacy (Stratford) beHrtg deacon, 'Rev. Father MoGfrath 1 '(Patefc) siubdeawon, ißev. Father O'SulViv a n ma^r of ceremonies. The Very Rev. Dean Grogan and Rev. Fatiher Lacroix were alsio present, the latter giving valuable help to the choir in the rendering of the solemn music.

An Auckland wire states that Miss F. V. Jacobsen, M.A., formerly of Wanganui, has been appointed an assistant mistress at the Auckland Grammar School. Miss Jacobsen, who is the "(laughter of a well known architect who formerly practised here, wasi educated at the Convent and the Girls' College, where sihe gained much scholastic distinction. Since leaving WanganUi sflie has been a sikident at the Auckland University College.
