SACRED HEART HIGH SCHOOL, NAPIER. (From our own correspondent.)

The annual distributi'an of pri'/es and musical entertainment in aotnnection witn the Sacred Heart High Softool, N'alpier, took place at St. Joseph's Monastery on December 13. There was a very large attendance of parelats and friends, and the proceed i-ngs were of a mpst interesting nature. After ample time had been allowed rvis[itt>rs ti,-, inspect the students' work, the musical part of the programme was given. The o\erture, ' I Ppritani ' was capitally played hy Misses Payne, Wells, GiomnVich, Tepene, Treanor, and McGlane. The other instrumental items were, violin, mandolin, piano, and org,a,n quartette, ' Aye Maria,' by Misses M. Ward, G. Pope, Wells, amd Kerr ; trios on three pianos by Misses Ritchie, Kerr, and Needham, anfd Mispes Harmsitton, Wells, an>i O. CTe>sswell, and a violin solo, ' Maritana,' by Miss K. Oondon. The senior pupils sang a number of slopes and Choruses m a most acceptable manner, while the junior pu/pils acqidtted themeelrves admirably in an action tambourine song and other exercises.

The pri/.es were presented by the Rev. F'aifher Goggan, after which the children were suitably addressed by Mr. A, L. Fraser, M.H.R., and the Mayor (Mr. S, Carnell). Tbe toll-owing is the prize list :— SENIOR DIVISION.
