University Junior and Senior Civil Service, Medical Entrance, Solicitors' General Enowledge, Bank and all other Publio Examinations. Students not preparing for the learned Professions have the advantage of a Special Commercial Course, under efficient management, where they are taught all that will be of use in mercantile pursuits. Special attention is also paid to the teaching of Physical Science, for which purpoee the Colege poßeesees a large Laboratory and Demonstration Hall. Vooall Music, Eiooution, Drawing, and ail other branches of a Liberal Edu oaMon receive due attention. Physical culture is attended to by a competent Drill Instructor who trains the Btudents three times a week in Drill, Rifle Praotice, and Gymnastics. A large and well -equipped Gymnasium iB attached to the College. The religious and moral training of the pupils is an object of special oare, and particular attention iB bestowed on the teaching of Christian Doctrine. A well-appointed Infirmary attached to the C ollege is under the charge of the Sisters of Compassion, from whom in case of illness all students receive the most tender and devoted care, and who at all times pay particular attention to the younger and more delicate pupils, who without such care would find the absence of home comforts very trying. Dr. JLenihan, Bishop of Auckland. The Site of the College is charmingly situated. It ;a within easy reach of Queen street, overlooks the Waitemata Harbor, and commands a magnificent view of the Waitakerei Ranges. Abutting the Richmond Road, the College lifts its stately form on a section of land 14 acres in extent. This will afford the students convenient grounds for games and recreations, and so contribute materially to their development, mental, moral, and physical. A plo.t of five acres is now in course of preparation for a football and cricket ground. The College is large and commodious. It is built in brick, on concrete foundations. To secure dry ness, all its outer walls are cemented ; and to guard against fire, the inner walls are plastered and the ceilings built in steel. The dormitories are large and lofty, the class ro,oms well lighted and ventilated, and the baths supplied with water hot and cold. For a Boarding School, Auckland possesses unique advanta-ges. It enjoys an immunity from extremes of heat and cold, possesses a mild and salubrious climate, and has scenic surroundings that have made it the lavorite city of New Zealand to reside in. The great object of the Brothers is to give their pupils a Sound Religious Training, to teach them to be virtuous, and to accustom them to the regular practice of their religious duties, and at the same time to Impart to them a knowledge of such subjects as will qualify them for Public Examinations, fit them for commercial and professional pursuits, and enable them to discharge the diuties of their after-life with honor to religion, benefit to the State, and credit to themselves. Students are prepared for MATRICULATION, CIVIL SERVICE, MEDICAL ENTRANCE, and SOLICITORS' GENERAL KNOWLEDGE Examinations. The Pension is 35 Guineas per annum.
