(From a correspondent.) March 20. On St Patrick's Day the Catholic young ladies and ox-pupils of St. Patrick's School decided to give the Sisters and children a picnic. As the day gave promise of being wet, it was thought advisable to hold the affair in the schoolground. Towards the afternoon lain set in and the friendly shelter of the school was sought A very enjoyable time was spent, games of all kinds being indulged in. During the day national songs wore sung in honor of St. Patrick, and the pupils of the Sis-teis rendered in excellent style ' The dear littlej shamrock- ' That grand old Irish welcome, ' Cead mile fiiltrV appeared over the entrance, a,nd at the rear flew the Irish national flag. Rev. Father O'Connor was present, and also the Rev. Mother and Sisters from Hoki-li'-a The day's amusement was brought to a close by all present singing ' Faith of our fathers. Three hearty cheers were tihen given for the visiting arid local Sisters and three for the young- ladies'.
