An Appeal
A clergyman residing in England whom Cardinal Loguo describes as 'An Irish priest, educated at Maynooth, holding n high position in the diocese- whero ins mission lies, and a pronouncod Nationalist, ' writes to his Eminence, beseeching him ' to do something for us.' Ho says, ' If the Irish Party returned now to fight our battle they might effect something in the report stage of the Bill ' ]n a letter to tho ' Independent ' the same write- appeals to the priests of Ireland. ' Hundreds of them,' he writes, ' all over Ireland know me well I sat side by side with many of them for years in the study halls of Mnynooth. I appeal to them, for the honor of C-od and the honor of Ireland, to sa^ve us Irish Catholics in England from destruction ' Ohe cable agent attributed this letter to Cardinal Logue, the following being the message received in these colonies about the middle of No\ ember : The ' Irish Daily Independent and Daily Nation ' publishes a letter by Caidmol Logue, Archbishop of Armagh, with reference to the Education Bill. The Cardinal declares that the Insh N at I.O nah hjls by not supporting the Ministry on (he Education Bill, have basely abandoned the Irish Catholics in England in the hour of their sorest need ITe says, ' We suppoi ted the party with voice and purse since iis formation, and this is our reward '
