PALMERSTON NORTH.
(From oar own correspondent.) January 4. His Graoe Archbishop Redwoxl administered the Sacrament of Coafirmation to 110 ohillren and adults at the 11 o'clock Mass on Sunday, Daaember 21 His Graoe also preached eloquent sermons both morniner and evening. On th* Festival of the Nativity Masses were celebrated at midnight, and at eight and eleven o'clock. ChristmaH Eve in Palmesston was wet and stormy, but this did not affect the attendance at the midnight service, tha church being very much crowded. T-ie singing of St. Patrick's choir and the deoorations being quite up to former yeara. Oq Sunday, the 18th inst., a mission will be commence i by the Redemptorist Fathers in St. Patrick's Church, and will continue for the following fortnight. The Rev. Father O'Farrell, the head of Order, will conduct the opening services.
