Dr. Power, of Sydney, is now on a visit to his brother, Very Rev. Canon Power, P.P., fimly (says the Irish Independent of "July 10). The Dublin University confened the M.A. and M.D. degrees on Dr. Power recently.
Referring to the fact that the Rev. Dr. Rentoul has completely changed his views on Orangeism, the Melbourne correspondent of the Otago Daily Times notes with ' satisfaction the evidence of a broader and more tolerant spirit between Roman Catholics and Presbyterians which is becoming evident. Archbishop Carr and Dr. McLaren (the head of the Presbyterian Ladies' College) have conducted a newspaper debate on religious education, which has been notable for its friendly tone ; indeed, the Archbishop specially commends Dr. McLaren as his ' courteous and esteemed ' opponent. And a few days ago, when the Rev. Dr. MacGregor died in Carl ton, the finest wreath on his coffin was from the Rev. Dr. Kelly, of St. Brigid's, opposite.'
