St. Joseph's Club, Dunedin.

The annual meeting 1 of the members of St. Joseph's Club was held in St. Joseph's Hall, Dunedm, on Friday evening 1 . Hib Lordship Bishop Verdon presided, and there was a representative attendance. The annual report, pres-en ed by the Executive Committee, after referring to the success which had attended the bazaar held in aid of the building 1 fund of the hall, and thanking all who had worked towards that end, went on to say that the meetings of the social and literary branches had been interfered with to a conhiderab'e extent whilst tne preparations for the b. zaar were going oi. The gymnasium clas-ses had been well attended durirjg the yea r , many of the members attaining great proficiency under Mr. T. Deehan, the honorary ini-tructor. The Ladies Olub was also w^ll atti nded, the culinary classes being taken advantage of to a large extent. The liability on the piano had been cleared off. Forty new tables, suitable for social gatherings, had been procured, and these were the means of considerable saving, as otherwise they would have to be hired on special occasions. A ve»y great success had been made of the St. Patrick's night concert, over £50 having been netted therefrom. The library had been catalogued, and very little more labor will now put it in working ord«r. A billiard table has just been procured for tLe hall and the thanks of the club are due to his Lordship for advancing the purchase money. Tne committee return their sincere thanks to the Uev. Fatht r Murphy, Adm., for assistance given at various times. The statement of receipts and expenditure showed ihttt the fum of £50 9s Id had been received from all sources', ii.c utling a balance brought forward from last year of £5 los Id.
