' Suspicious Strangers.'
An amusing instance of the thing that ought to have been said differently ia furnished by a New Zealand correspondent of M.A.P. 'On the occasion of a welcome which was given to Lord Ranfurly at a certain seaport town in this Colony, an arch was displayed with the word ' Welcome ' on it, and a line of flags suspended above it. As the Governor is an authority on nautical signalling, he glanced at the line of flags. Imagine his dismay when he read : • Beware of suspicious strangers I '
