ST. MARY'S CONVENT, WELLINGTON.

Thk schoolroom, Guildford Terrace (writes our Wellington correspondent) was well filled on Wednesday evening when the annual Distribution of prizes ti the pupils of St. Mary's Convent took place. His Grace the Archbishop presented the prizes. Among the audience were Rev. rather* O'rihea and HoMey, Mrs. and the Mis-e-s Seddon, and maiy other prominent citiz -ns. A varied programme of vocal and mstumenUl mu«io arid dances made up the first p-irt of the entertainment. The choruses ' Welcome.' ' Halt for the bugle sound,' ' Angelus,' and 'Vacation is near,' weie features «<f the evening's performance and received well merited applause. Mis* C. McClopkey receive! an encore for her song ' Love Lulldoy' (Goring Thomas), uud resp nded by repeating the refrain. Miss Aggie Fife, for hor graceful dancing of a bailor's hornpipe, was also encored. Miss Nettie Falconer's piano solo ' Rhapsodic Hongroise,' was an artistic performance and to a well merited recall she bowed he/ acknowledgment.
