Dunedin Horse Saleyards.
Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co. report as follows :—: — There was a very poor bhow of hui.-o <il uiir .-ale last Satv.r'^y and a great many buyers had to go away without being supplied. Draughts : There were very few forward, and only one really he ivy gelding amongst them. The gelding mentioned was a seven-jear-old hor«e of fair merit, and (■•hanged hands at £50. The balance were principally aged horses, which t-old at full market quotations. Spring-carters and light horses were a fair show so far as numbers were concerned, but the quality all through was very secondary. The demand, however, was good, and most of the entries changed hands at very satisfactory prices. We quote — Superior young draught geldings, L 4.") to L">o ; extra good prize horses, L."> to L7O ; medium draught marea and geldings, L3B to L 44 ; aged do, L3O to L 36 ; upstanding carriage horses, 1,20 to L3O ; well-matched carriage pairs. L6O to L7(> ; strong spring-van horses, L 26 to L 33 ; milk-cart and butchers' order-cart horses, Ll4 to L_"> ; tram horses, Ll2 to Lift ; light hacks, LlO to Ll2 ; extra good hacks, LlB to L 25 ; weedy and aged hacks and harness horses, L 2 to L,").
