Napier, September 15.—Nelson Bros, have received the following cable from the C.C. and D. Company to-day .—'Frozen meat market—To-day's quotations: Best Canterbury, 3jd ; Dunedin and Southland, 3£d ; Napier aud North Island, 3Jd. Lamb—Firsc quality, 4Jd ; second quality, 4 }d. London, September 15.—The wheat market is firm, but quiet A South Australian June shipment and Victorian September and October shipments are quoted at 325. The War Office has ordered 5600 tons of New Zealand oats for South Africa. Wheat. —ll,ooo quarters of Victorian September and October shipments have been sold at 32s 3d. The Agent-General cables : ' The butter market i 8 very unsettled ; the choicest Victorian kinds average 104s. The oheetf market is firm, the finest Canadian averaging 545.' Messrs. Donald Reid and Co., Ltd., report as follows :— Oats —Our catalogue was made up of small lota of medium to good feed oats. These met with fair competition from local buyers, and were quitted at about late values. The demand for shipment during the past week has been quiet, and values quoted last week havo been barely maintained. We quote : Prime milling, Is 9d to Is 9^d ; good to best feed, la 7}d to Is S}d ; medium, la 5d to Is 7d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat —The demand for prime milling quality is unchanged, while medinm samples receive some attention from shippers. Fowl wheat is scarce and is readily sold at quotations. We quote : Prime milling, 2s 6d to 2s 7£d ; medium, 2s 2d to 2a 5d ; fowl wheat, whole. 2* to 2s Id ; broken, etc., Is 9d to la lid per bushel (aaaks in). Potatofs— The market is dull at late quotations. Prime Derwents, 32s 6d to 35s ; medium, 25s to 30s per tOD (sacks in). Chaff —Prime oaten sheaf is scarce, and in good demand. Medium is not much sought after. We sold good to best at L 2 10s to L 2 15s; medium, L 2 to L 2 7s 6d per ton (bags extra). Mr. F.
