DEATH OF THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH.

Jrsr as we were going to Press news was received of the death of H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh. The deceased Prince was born at Windsor on August 6, \M\. He was created Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Kent, and Earl of Ulster in the peerage of the United Kingdom, on May 24, 18tif>. He visited these colonies in IM!7. He was Duke of Saxony and Prince of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. He succeeded to the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha on August 22, ISM. The late Duke resided a portion of each year in England, and kept an establishment at Clarence House, and retained an annuity of £10 000 voted him by the British Parliament in 1573.
