At latest advice the Very Rev. Dr. Watteid had returned to London after h's tour of the Continent. The improvement in his health recorded some months ago still continues, but, he says, that though anxious to begin work medical advice is still against courting a breakdown of a system that now begins to feel somewhat normal. After the enquiry into th<» circumstances surrounding the guncotton explosion at Mahanga Bay by which three men of the permanent force lost their lives in August last year the evidence taken was sent to the Woolwich arsenal authorities for their perusal. A solemn Jln/uiem Mass. for the repose of the soul of the late Mr. P. B. Skerrett, who was killed in the South African war, waa celebrated by the Rev.
