Tin, marriage of Mr. Thomas McPhilhps and Mis 4 Georgina Deacon Scown (writes our c> respondent) was solemnised at Auroa, near Manaia,on June ">. The popularity of the young people was attested by the large number of friends present at the ceremony. The marriage was celebrated by the Very Rev. Father Power, the witnesses being Mr. E. McPhillips and Miss Mabel Scown. Upwards of 100 guests afterwards s.it down to a sumptuous breakfast, during which the usual toasts were proposed ami responded to by Father Power Mr. McPhiUps, Mr. Blennerhasset, Mr. Sinclair, Mr. Taylor, and Mr. Cullen. Ihe .speech of Mr. Mcl'hillips was the happiest I have heard from a yming Benedict, in the afternoon the happy couple left for Auckland, where the honeymoon was to be spent, taking with the n the b -t wishes of a large circle of fiiends.

LYONS— MURPHY.

A \<ry pretty wedding came off in St. Joseph's Church, Temuka. on June 1G (writes our Temuka correspondent), whea Miss Catherine Murphy, sec nd daughter of Mr. John Murphy, of Kerrytown, was joined in the bonds of Holy Matrimony, by the Rev. Father Gaierne, to Mr. Patrick Lyons, eldest son of Mr. Daniel Lyons, of Tralee, County Kerry. The bride was elegantly dressed in a costume of electric blue, trimmed with white silk and chiffon, and wore a large picture hat. The bridesmaid (Miss Counell) was similarly attired. Mr. Thomas Kelliher was best man. The wedding breakfast was held at the residence of Mr. R. Chute (brother-in-law of the bride), Temuka. Appropriate speeches were made and responded to. The happy couple left for Dunedin to spend their honeymoon. The presents were numerous and handsome, and showed the esteem in which the newly-married couple are held.
