WEDDING BELLS.

MCCOOL— MCCARTHY. Our Hawera correspondent writes : — A very pretty weddmg took place at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Eltham, on last Tuesday morning, the contracting parties being Mr. John McCool, of ABhurst, and Miss Catherine McCarthy, eldest daughter of Mr. Timothy McCarthy, of Eltham. Very Rev. Father Power, of Hawera, was the officiating clergyman. A large number of guests were subsequently entertained by Mr. and Mrs. MoCarthy. The health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by the parish priest and suitably responded to by Mr. McCool. Other toasts were proposed and responded to by Mr. McCool, sen., Mr. Johnston, Mr. O'Reilly, and Mr. McCarthy. A very enjoyable time was spent until late in the afternoon, when the happy pair left for Wanganui, where they intend to spend the honeymoon. KEARNEY— BROPHY. A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick'sjChurch, Pal. merston (says the Manawatu Standard") when Mr. John Kearney, of the Danevirke telegraph staff, was united in marriage to Miss Mary Brophy, second daughter of Mr. Peter Brophy, of Grey street. The bride, who was nicely dressed in a khaki costume, with hat to match, was attended by Miss Lizzie Brophy, as bridesmaid, and Mr. James Brophy acted as best man. T.he ceremony, whioh was wit» nessed by a large congregation, was performed by the Rev. Father Tymons.
