MARRIAGE OF LORD PETRE.

The marriage took place on Jnne 6 at the Church of the Servite Fathers, London, of Lord Petre, son of the twelfth Loid Petre, of Thornton Hall, Brentwood, and Ingatestone Hall, Essex, and Miss Audrey Clark, daughter of the Rev. W R. Clark. Cardinal Vaughan officiated, assisted by Monaignor Crock and the Prior. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. C. Liddon Clark, wor« a beautiful wedding gown of white satin, trimmed with Brussels lace applique", and true lovers' knots in white velvet. Her veil was of Brussels lace, and her ornaments were diamonds and emeralds. There were six bridesmaids — Miss Muriel and Miss Jack Cole, nieces of the bride, Lady Eva Forbes, Miss Stapleton-Bretherton, Miss Trafford, and Miss Irene Throckmorton. The Hon. Joseph Petre was best man.

After the ceremony a reception was held (says the New Era) by the Hon. Mrs. Albert Petre, sister of the bride, at 08, Lowndes square, kindly lent by the Hon. Mrs. Stapleton-Brttherton ; and later in the day Lord and Lady Petre left for Paris, where the honeymoon was to be ppent. Among tho-ie at the reception were the Duke of Norfolk, Archbishop Vaughan, the Countess of Granard, Mr. and the Hon. Mrs. Trafford, Lord and Lady Edmond Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Cole. Miss Hilda Cole, Mr. Alfred Higgins and Miss Higgins, Lord and Lady Herries, Lord and Lady Clifford of ChudleU h, Viscountess Dalrymple and the Hon. Beatrice Dalrymple, Lady Lovat, the Dowager Countess De La Warr and Lady Mary Sackville, Viscount Llandaff, Lord and Lady Mowbray and Stourton, Count and Countess Torre Dias, Sir George and Lady Pttre, Mr. Henry Petre, and many others. The Prince of Wales presented the bride with a sapphire and diamond brooch, while from the bridegroom she received a silvermounted dressing-bag, an emerald, diamond, and pearl pendant, an emerald and diamond pendant, an emerald, diamond, and pearl bracelet, and an emerald ring, a diamond ring, and a ruby and pearl ring. The bridegroom receivfd from the Essex Union Hunt a silver centrepiece, in the shape of a fox ; from the tenants at Thornton a silver centrepiece aud an illuminated a ddress ; and from the tradesmen at Brentwood a silver inkatand.
