London, June 28. — The fourth series of the London colonial wool sales opened to-day. Compared with the closing prices of the last series, merinos showed an advance of 5 to 10 pur cent. ; crossbreda a decline of 1\ per cent. London, June 29. — At the wool sales yesterday there was keen competition, and prices were unchanged. There was better competition yesterday in crossbred wools. The Omarama clip realised 10 l-8d and the Patoka clip 7gd. The Bradford wool market is quiet. Common sixties, 2~>\ ; super, 27. J. London, July 1. — At the wool sales to-day bidding was animated, and all classes were firm. The Waihau brand realised 6Jd, and the Oreti brand 9£d. London, July 2. — At the wool sales prices are well maintained. Up to date, during the present series. 55,859 bales have been catalogued, and 52,147 sold. TITI and R and S over T (Riddiford and Sons, Teawaiti) clip sold at 7d. London, July 4. At the wool sales the ' Ngatipa ' clip sold at 6gd, and the 'Glenburn 'at 6}d. Prices remain unchanged. At the periodical sales the hides supply was small, and there were no buyers. Leather was dull and prices remained unchanged. Tallow — Total stocks, 17,507 casks ; imports during the past month were 4596 casks, and deliveries 4605. Messrs. Buxton, Jacomb, and Balme's joint wool catalogue comprised 12,184 bales, two-thirds of which were New Zealand wools, chiefly crossbreds. The National Mortgage and Agency Company Company received the following cablegram from their London office, dated June 27 :—: — 1 Wool sales opened at an average advance of "> per cent, for merinos of all descriptions and crossbred finest descriptions, and an average decline of 7J per cent, on crossbred coarse descriptions. The market is unchanged for crossbred medium descriptions.' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) received the following cablegram from their London office last week : — ' Wool — Merino line crossbred. The t-ales opened at an average advance of 5 per cent, ou last sale's closing rates Medium crossbred : The tone of the market is easier. Coarse crossbred : The sales opened at an average decline of about 5 per cent, t'j 7£ per cent, on last sale's closing rates. There is less spirit among buyers for coarse crossbred. Attendance of both Home and foreign buyers is good.'

Messrs. Stronach Bros, and Morris report as follows .—. — Rabbitskins — Competition was keen at Monday's sale, and prices were well maintained. Winter greys sold at Is 10d to 2s Id ; selected, a shade more ; early do , Is 7d to Is 9£d ; autumns, Is 4d to Is 6Jd ; summers, 10d to Is 3d ; suckers and runners. 5d to 9£d ; j blacks and silver greys, Is 8d to 2s 3Jd per lb. Sheepskins — We offered a very large catalogue on Tuet-day. when prices were fully equal to late quotations, fine woolled skins being very keenly competed for. Hides — Market firm. Prime heavy ox, 3^d to l[d ; medium, 2|d to 3}d ; light and inferior, Ijd to 2id per lb. TALLOW — Market unchanged. Best rendered mutton, lls to 16a ; medium, 12a to 13a Od ; rough fat, 8a 6d to 11s per cwt.
