AUSTRALIAN BUTTER.

Messrs. Weddel and Cos review of the butter season, issued at the end of June, says that unless an organised body is elected to uphold Australian values there is danger of prices permanently setting at a penny per lb below those of Danish butter. It urges the adotion of pasteurising, and asserts that the Australian article despite the drought, is ousting competitors from British markets' The review forecasts higher prices owing to increased prosperity.
