Mr. C. R. Chapman will be a candidate for Dunedin City. Dr. Newman will contest the Wellington suburbs seat should his health permit. Mr. O'Regan, M.H.R . will give an address in Gore, *>ome time this month, on Single Tax. The Hon. W. Hall-lone- addressed his constituents in Tiniaru last week, and received a vote of thanks and confidence. Mr. W. C. Ca^tletoc. of Hamilton, ha*- been selected by the Prohibitionists as a candidate for Waikato. Mr. W. Earnshaw, formerly of Dunedin. but now of Wellington, is out as a candidate for the Empire City. He will be a supporter of the Opposition. Mr. F. E. Baume. solicitor, will be a eandidete for Auckland city, and Mr. J. M. hbera has difinitely decided to offer bis services to the electors of Ohioenuiri. We understand (says the Otago Daily Tnnt.s') that Mr. A. Sligo, M.H.R., Dunedin, intends to address his constituent* shortly. The date of the meeting will be announced in the course of a few days. Captain Russell delivered a political address at Stratford last week, and after answering several questions, was accorded a vote of thanks. The Cromwell Time* hears that Mr. A W. Tyndall is likely to be a candidate at the General Election in the Government in terest. The Leader says that the Opposition candidate for Geraldine will be Mr. John r'raser, a well-known farmer of Waitohi, and a member of the Timaru Harbour Board. The Tuapt'ha Tune* states that there is a strong- probability of Mr. James Bennet. chairman Tuapeka County Council, being a candidate for the Tuapeka seat at the General Election, in the Government interest. Captain Russell addressed a meeting of electors at Auckland on Tuesday night, when he had a very nattering reception. The leader of the Opposition was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his address. There was a large gathering in the Princess Theatre, Dunedin on Tuesday evening of last week, when Mr. J. A. Millar delivered a political address. A vote of confidence in Mr. Millar and the Government was unanimously agreed to. The Premier addressed a meeting »t Dannevirke on Saturday night, on the same lines as his Eketahuna speech. A vote of thanks and confidence in the Government and approval of their land policy was carried without dissent.

Mr. George Hutchison and Mr. W. C. Buchanan. M H.R 's, addressed a large meeting in Pahiatua last wtek. Both uituckeil the present Administration, and dealt with the late marine scandal, which Mr. Hutchison said was without parallel outside New York.

The Premier had a good reception at Eketahuna on Friday, when h« announced that there would be a surplus of close on half a million. On the motion of Mr Higgins, seconded by Mr. Kelloher, Mr. Seddon was accorded a vote of thanks, with one of conti jence in his government.
