Invercargill, Produce Market.

Wheat : Prices unchanged, only local buyers operating O.its Values have gone down, and the best price obtainable 7s Is 4\(\, sacks in, f.o.b. Bluff. Local merchants have given hirmors Jrom Is o}d to Is l]d, wvks extra, at up-oouutry stations. Uhese pru c-, being very full value when compared with f o.b. prices obtainable for orders from over sea. and unless values improve in the outside markets, it is evident that prices ruling locally must come down. The low value has induced some to try the London market, and shipments have beon made by the lndramayo and Morayshiie. Wheat : Good milling is worth from 2s 2d to 2s 3d, sacks extra, upcountry stations. Ryegrass : Farmers' parce's find ready sale at Is to Is 3d, sacks extra. There is no outside demand. Barley : Good malting samples are saleable at 3s to 3s 3d to local brewers. The outside demand is poor.

Invercargill prices current :— Wholesale— Butter, fresh, 7d ; eggs, Is 6d per doz ; cheese, farm, 3\d ; bacon, farm, 7d ; bacon (rolled), farm, Gd ; hams. 8d ; potatoes, 30s per ton : fowl wheat. 2s ; barley, 2s to 2s Gd : chaff, L 2 ; flour, L 8 ; oatmeal, L 9 to LlO ; bran, L 2 10s, including bags ; pollard, L 3. Retail — Fresh butter, i)d ; eggs, Is 'Jd per doz ; cheese, (id ; bacon (rolled). 8d ; sliced, ltd ; hams, lOd : potatoes, 50s per ton ; flour, 200 lbs, 17s ; .">olbs, Is 9d ; 251bs, 2s Gd ; oatmeal, 501bs, ."is ; 25lbs, 2s 9d ; pollard, 5s 9d per bag ; bran, 3s Gd per bag ; chaff, L 2 10s per ton ; fowls' feed, 2s 3d per bushel.

Messrs. Stronach Bros, and Morris report as follows :—: — Wheat — There is inquiry for prime milling and fowl wheat, but there is no change in values. Best milling, 2s id to 2s Gd ; medium do., 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; fowl wheat, Is lid to 2s for best ■ broken and inferior, Is Gd to Is 9d (sacks in, terms). Oats — Values are unchanged. There are numerous inquiries, but very little is offering in the meantime. Quotations are hard to get either here or at the Bluff. Is 3d Dunedin (sacks extra) is the figure at which most sales are made for B. grade sorts. Bakley — The best price obtained recently was 3b 7d Dunedin for a splendid sample of Lakes barley. Sales of coastal sorts are made at 2s 3d and 2s Id for ordinary medium quality Chafi* — Market overstocked and consignments difficult to place. Prime. L22sGd to L2ss ; medium, Ll 15s to L 2 ; inferior unsaleable. Potatoes — Best derwents, 37s Gd per ton. Supplies heavy.

Messrs. Donald Reid and Co. report as follows .—. — Oat* — We catalogued medium to best feed, PanNi. and sparrowbills. There -was a good attendance of buyers, but biddinsr was not animated. The lots sold, however, show la-it week's values to be fairly well maintained. Good to best feed sold at Is lid to Is :i£d ; medium. Is 2d to Is 2ld ; inferior, Is Id to Is 1] i per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat — The market for milling- quality is unchanged. All sorts in good condition are saleable at late values buyers evincing a preference for choice sample. Fowl wheat is offering more freely, and sells at : For good whole wheat, la 1 Id to 2s : medium, Is l)d to Is 10 Id : broken and damaged, Is Gd to Is 8d per bushel (sacks m). Potatoes — The supply coming forward is somewhat in excels of the demand, and sales at top prices are difficult to elfect. We quote : Best Derwents, 35s to :57s Gd ; medium, :50s to :52s Gd per ton (sacks in). Chai-t — The market is still over-supplied, ani to-day's prices show no improvement upon those of last week. Our catalogue comprised over 50 tons of varying qualities. Best oaten sheaf sold at L 2 r>s to L 2 7s Gi : medium to good, L 2 to L 2 2a Gd ; inferior, Ll 10s to Ll 17s Gd per ton (bags extra).
