True Courtesy. — The officers' mesa of a cracked regiment was recently the scene of an amusing bit of comedy. They were giving a dinner to a man in the regiment whose bravery was more remarkable that his familiarity with the usages of good society. The guest of the evening got on very well on the whole, but when the finger-bowls were brought round he looked at his for a moment or two of indecision, then took it up and drank the contents. The officers saw the mistake their guest had m ule, and in order to prevent his finding it out, and so feeling micomtortable, the Colonel, who was at tho head of the table, immediately took up his own finger bowl and conspicuously hipped it The other olticors followed suit, and at a sign the bow r ls were then removed.
