WEDDING BELLS.

BERRY — O'RIELLY. The Pro-Cathedral (writes our Christohurch correspondent) was, on Monday, the 13th inst., the scene of a very interesting wedding, the contracting parties being Mr. William Berry of Sydenham, and Miss Mary Josephine O'Reilly, daughter of Mrs. H. O'Reilly, also of the same suburb. Masa was attended in the morning, and at 1.30 in the afternoon the marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Richards, in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relations. The bride, who was eriven away by her brother, Mr. T. ■ O'Reilly, was attended by Miss Alice Brown and Mies Maggie O'Reilly (sister) as bridesmaids. The bridegroom was accompanied by his brother, Mr. Albert Berry, who acted as best man. The bride wore a white silk gown, trimmed with chiffon with tulle veil (beautifully worked by her sister at the Convent of the Sacred Heart), and the customary wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a lovely Bhower bouquet. The bridesmaids wore pretty dresses of pale blue, trimmed with black chiffon and picture hats to match, and were each presented by the bridegeoom with handsome gold bangles. On returning to the residence of the bride'o mother a large party were entertained during the evening. By the afternoon train the newly wedded couple left for Akaroa, where the honeymoon is to be spent, carrying away with them many good wishes for their happiness and well-being. The family of the bride is well-known and widely respected, from their untiring interest and close connection with Church matters, whilst Mr. Berry is no less popular. He was presented by his employers, Messrs. VVhitcombe and Tombs, with a purse of sovereigns prior to his marriage. The presents were numerous and useful, including several handsome cheques. That from the bridegroom to the bride being a costly dress ring. Messrs. W. Strange and Co. sent the bride a very nice -wicker chair as a parting gift on leaving the firm.
