■ — ■ — + Mr. Gaor-jv Uu-^ell Jackson who had been closely allied with Boston journalism for years, died at his home, in Somerville, in the early part of December, lie was born in Scotland fifty-eight years ago. Mr. Jackson began his newspaper career in Boston about 1865, and since that period he had been a popular contributor to many periodicals in the States. He was received into the Catholic Church on the Wednesday preceding his death. Miss Annie Burritt. of Bridgeport, Connecticut, a prominent worker in Trinity Episcopal church. New York, was receive 1 into the Catholic communion, in the church of the Paulist Fathers, New York, a shoi-t time age by the Rev Father O'Keeffe, C.S.P. ' Miss Burritt was accompanied when she made her submission by her friend and sponsor, Misa Hecker, of Bridgeport, a neice of the late Father Isa ie T Heck<?r, the founder of the Congregation of Paulists. The conversion of Miss Buiritt created a sensation among her friends.
