We have received for the Rev. Father Kreymborg's mission packages of used stamps from, A Child of Mary, Hawera ;SMiss Annie M'Cosker, Riverside, Ashburton ; Miss Sarah Kelly, Rockland Street, a parcel from a friend, Lincoln, and from Thomas Hefferhan, Murray street, U-reymouth. • ' *
Last week a meeting of the Addington GEurch committee took place at the presbytery at the Pro-Cathedral, Christchurch. vtsa ~U!S~ U !5? tna & the fiev " Father S «*™i««> Mr. AW Fielder (the architect for the new church), Messrs. Rennell. M Keown, Hickey, and others were present. The object of the meeting was to consider the nine tenders received for the proposed structure. The tender of Mr. George Simpson was acoeptedfaS the work will be commenced .and finished in about eight weeks hence. The new church which will stand on a concrete foundation 18ifi ?Ifr T«L i 2t i longr and 22ft wide - The sanctuary will be 14ft x 16ft, and the sacristy 10ft x 10ft. The height from the floor to the ceilm? is 18ft. The windows are Gothic. They will be S«fS«ff } - Cla -S et c ± ured g^ss, which will give a very frnfw J mß i de ; Th^ re wiU be heav y bar & e boa *fc a Gothic door and two windows in front, and on the apsides of " the front door and front gable there will be gilt crosses. Altogether the church when fimshed^ will be quite an ornament to Addington. S,S be , added that Mr Fielder is also calling tenders for a similar church, which will be shortly erected in Halswell.
