The following reached us after the publication of our last issue : —

At a meeting of parishioners held iv the schoolroom on July 24, it was unanimously resolved to git up a bazaar during- the first week in November, the proceeds or' which will' pay off debts incurred anil will give a start for building a convent, — as the old, dilapidated house which has given a kind of shelter to the Sisters for the past twelve years will be devoted to other uses more in keeping with its antiquity and tottering condition. The matter is taken up warmly and the ladies of the parish are doing excellent work in collecting for the bazaar and supplying the various stalls. Stall No. 1 : Stallholders ; Mesdames Jones and Boyd, and Miss S. Power, having for their sphere of work the districts of Rangiora Loburn, Ashley^ and Woodend. Stall No. 2 : — Stallholders : Mesdames Kearney and Kennedy. Oxford and Fernside belong to it and it includes Glentin, where Mr. O'Halloran's zeal in collecting for charitable purposes is very successful. Stall No. 3 : — Stallholders : Mesdaa-os McGrath, P. O'Neill and T. Linskey, having for their field of operations Kaiapoi, Southbrook, Flaxton and Ohoka. The refreshment atall will be under the charge of Mrs. J. Power, Mrs. Hickland and Miss Renehan. The school children are preparing a concert to be held on September G. The programme will include musioal items^ recitations, a.nd the play, 'The Little Pickle,' or < None so Blind as Those who Will not See. A number of boarders from tlie Christchurch convent will assist.
