THEusual weekly meeting of the Dunedin Catholic Literary Society was held m the rooms. Rattray street, on Friday last Rev. Father Murphy, president, occupied the chair, and, despite the boisterous evemn- a fair number of members put in an appearance Mr. \\ , J. titzpatrick was elected a member of the Society Mr. h. The speaker received a hearty round of applause at the conclusion of hi* lecture, and on the motion of Mes.srs Marlow and J. J Connor, Mr. Dobbin was accorded n hearty vote of thanks for his able and highly instructive lecture
