(From our own Correspondent.") A WEDDING. A» interesting wedding toak place at the Pro-cathelral on Wednesday morning last. Tbe contracting parties, who bjth belong to this city, were Uiaa Elit^i Tait, oaly d<tus*hter of Mrs F. Tat, of Barbadoea street, Obristchurch, and Mr Alfred Thomas White, son of the late A. T. Wt ie. The bride, wno was given away by Major Slater, wore a traveling dress. A sister of the bridegroom, Miss Dolly While, was bridesmaid, and wib attired in a rich tweed dreaa with toque to match. The best man was Mr H. H. Loughnan, barrister. The Very Rev Father Cuaamings, V.G., performed tba ceremony, said the Nuptial Mass, and gave communion to tbe bride and to tbe bridegroom, also to the members of the family of the latter. M., will keliver a panegyric on St John the Baptist.

A distinguished member of the Marist Brothers, the R«v Brothf j LoeLus, who hes charge of the Catholic Orphanage at Stoke, Nelson is now on a visit to this city and the guest of the Rev Brother Daniel, the Buperior of the order in Christcburch. Brother Lee t vs will during his stay in Canterbury visit the Orphanage at Burntiam. About Bix years ago he visited the city of the plains for the benefit of his heart, which at tha' time was cot good, but which at present is excellent. Brother Loe'us is a native of Belgium, but has been for many years in this Culocy engaged in the education of youth and the interests of bis order.
