ELLESMERE NOTES.

I notices that the committee, which it was agreed at a meeting held •t Leeston a short time agoshould be appointed for the pnrpU of looking after the registration of all .he Catholics of the parish \m not yet been appointed. This is a matter that should not be lost sight of, bat which should be attended to at once, for although there may appear to be plenty of time, still, we will not feel the time passing before another general election is upon us. Speaking of election* jeminds me of one thing that has hitherto t.on of suitable c »nd,date». In the past, Catholics have done little or nothing ,n this respect, but allowed themselves to be at the mercy of any political weather-cock who might come forward. And it is therefore, very often a case of six of one and half dozen of the other with thai.
