CONCERT IN DUNEDIN.

A veb,y successful concert was givnn in the Princess Theatre, Dunedio, on Friday evening in aid of the building fund of St Patrick's Church, South Dunedin. The ladies who sang were Meadames Bose and Angus, and the Misses Morrison, Bean, Btovenaon and Blaney. The gentlemen were Messrs Jago, Jonet, Young, Umbers, Manson and Denaem. Mrs Bose sang, in a very finished mnnner, Hullah's " Three Others." Mrs Angus gave, ai acceptably as usual, the "Dear little shamrock," and ako took part effectively in the trio, " Qaeen of Night," with Miss Blaney and Mr Jago. Miss Morrison was heard to advantage in Balfe'i " I dreamt that I dwelt." Miss Scan sang with charming sweetness Verdi's "Ah fors c lvi." Miss Stevenson sang Piccolomini's " Sancta Maria " in a msnner which was much appreciated, and Miai Blaney gave Garcia's « Salve Begina " with her usual success; Two quartets were sung by Messn Umbers, Jones, Jago and Manson, who did the music ample justice. Mr Young gave the solos the " Salamander," and the "Wearing of the green," gainining high applause in each instance. Mr Jago sang, with hu accustomed brilliancy, "Who shall be king." He also took part in the duet " Qui vive N with Mr Umbers. Mr Umbers' solo was Sullivan's " Take a pair of sparkling eyes," whioh was admirably sung. Mr Deniem sang, in excellent style, Jude's " Home boys, borne," and, as an enoore, " Father O'Flynn." Miss Blanche Joel played as a piano solo, an adagio and rondo from Beethoven, in which she fully displayed her high powers as a pianist. Miss E. Molony gave as a piano solo, % galop de eoneert by Eowalski, brilliantly played. Mr Parker played as a violin solo, Alard'a arrangement of " Bigoletto," which was greatly admired. Miss Molony and Mr Baeyertc acted with skill and taste as accompanists. Towards the end of the performance the Most Bey Dr Moran came on the platform and thanked the performers for their kind services and delightful music and the audience for their generous patronage; The addition to the fund should be considerable.
