At Reading, Pa., recently an accomplished and gifted girl joined the Catholic Uhurch. Her Hebrew nama was Annie Kes9ler, and she was Lweuly 3 ears cf age. bhc left the home i.f rich parents \n Lithuania, Russian Poland, to escape a dis'asteful marriage, and came to America to make her own living. Her parents wanted her to marry a rich young Hebrew. She did not lov^ him, and ratber th»n sacrifice herself bhe fled from home. Over 1,200 persons witnessed the ceremony. The young woman was dreßSid in white, and the ends of her long white veil were carri d by two young girls as she marched to the altar. With her came as godfathers and godmothers, twelve membeis of the Church, cine was baptised and given the name of Annie Mary Josephine Catsimira. The Jatter name was takpn trom Cassimir, the patron saint of Lithuania. The ceremony of renunciation and reception iuto the Catholic Church then followed, with an address of welcome and advice by the pastor.
