General Prajevalsky, the Russian explorer, has left St. Petersburg on his journey of discovery to Tmbet. He will pick up on the way a selected band of hardy Coseacks to accompany Lim. It is fully in accordance with Russia's policy to send out erai-gares m the guise of explorers : and at this moment, when war is as good as dec'ared between Thibet and the British in India, and may break out at any moment, Prajevalsky's progress will be very closely watched.
