Daaed politicians gather round, Agape with holy wonder ; Coercio i, scheming pious plans For Ireland's reclamation, Invokes the awful bulls and bans Of Excommunication, All breathless, motionless, intent, She waits with prayerful presage Forecasting the supreme event Of this tremendous message :—: — And lo ! the Pope, without offence To folk engaged in quarrels, Just begs them, in a geueral sense, To practise Christian morals !
