OBITUARY NOTICE.

It is with regret that we hav° to chronicle the death of a citixen whose lobs will be felt in various circles in Dunedin, where he was widely known and esteemed. Mr. Charles Reis, the local manager for Messrs. Peacock and Co., who died on Tuesday last, had been connected with that firm for the past 17 years ; tad, although only resident in this city during the last three or four y<iars, his kindliness of disposition and his great zeal in the cause of charicy and religion ■won him the warm reg ird of all with whom ha came in contact. The marriage of Mr. Reis to a young lady of this city was to have taken place within a few weeks, and this, coupled wifi the fact that he was the partial support of his widowed mother, renders his sudden death more painful. The event will be keenly felt by Mr. George Peacock., Benr., who has taken a parental interest in the deceased ■Ince his boyhood.
