A heated discussion in the Howe of Commons, Feb. 24, resulted in the suspension of Mr. William O'Brien, editor of United Ireland, for one week.

Ex-prefect Andrieux, whose betrayal of Masonic secrets caused such a sensation in France, has received his first punishment by being expelled from the Lyons lodge. When will the prescribed penalty of dismemberment, decapitation, etc , be enforced ? Mr. Andrieux does not seem to fear it, bat he may be over-confident. — Pilot.

Fifteen thousand people held a mass meeting at Phoenix Park on March 1 to denounce the action of the Speaker of tho House of Commons in suspending W. M. O'Brien, M.P., on February 21. Lord Mayor O'Connor presided.
