We sold I draft on account of Mr. J. Purios, Pukerau, at from 9s 9d to 11s ;n , Fat , p 'g 8 -- 67 were penned. The demand was fairly active, and all found buyers at from 19s to 67s each. h^/ tOre 110 . trans actions to report, but have on hand a small lot of well-bred three and four-year-old steers. «,««?• Shee P«—^^ is still a demand for most descriptions, but supplies are now getting short and transactions few. Duriaff the week we disposed of 7850, consisting of 4000 4, 6, and 8 tooth merino ewes and wethera, and 3000 full-mouthed merino ewes. Wool.— We held our fourth sale for this season at the Otago Wool «^?fii?« er 7^ ray Btr^\°£ Tuesday, the sth, when we disposed of 316 bales, 7 fadges, and 147 bags of various descriptions. The usual number of buyers was in attendance, and bidding was spirited for well-grown lines of half-bred and merino, lig ,t and properly skirted, and prices obtained quite equal to rates realised since the opening ; but coarse and heavy wool, slovenly put up, could only be placed at manifestly lower prices. -en j Sheepskins.— Our usual weekly sale was held on Monday. The attendance was good bidding was spirited, and prices obtained were equal to last week s dry, cross-breds and merinos realising from Is 3d to 4s^ld ; dry pelts, 4d to 8d ; butchers' do, Is 2d to Is 3d ; lambskins, i I ? de f'r"? re have no alterati on to note in this market, and have placed all to hand this week at, for cut and slippy, 2d to 2id : light, m good clean condition, 3d to 3|d ; medium to heavy, 3ii to 4W • extra heavy, which are scarce, 4|d per ft. 7 ' Tallow is in short supply, but without any quotable change in value. On Monday we sold at auction some lots (mixed) at 23s 6d and quote medium, 25s to 30s ; prime, 31s to 335 ; and rough fat, 17b do. to 25s 6a ptr cwt. Grain.— Wheat is in good request, and quotations unaltered— say for prime milling, 4s U to 4s 6d ; medium to good, 3s 6d to 4s 3d : inferior, 2s to 3s 3d. Oats are in moderate demand, and, the market being bare, last week's prices keep firm. We quote stout brighf milling, 2s 3d to 2s 4d ; short bright feed. 2s to 2s 2d ; and inferior to medium, Is 8d to Is lid. Barley : None in the market,
