PRESENTATION TO HIS LORDSHIP THE BISHOP OF DUNEDIN.
« A Committee meeting of gentlemen appointed to superintend the above was held on last Monday evening, in the Christian Brothers' schoolroom, when there were present : — Messrs. F. W. Petrie (in the chair), F. Meenan, J. B. Callan, J. F. Perrin. J. J. Connor, N. Smith, M. Fagan, R. S. Carlton, E. Sheedy, Jas. Daly, Thos. Mcc, W. Meade, N. Moloney, W. J. Hall, — Hussey, A. Toal, T. Fitzgerald, Jno. Corrigan, and R. A. Dunne, hon. secretary. The Eev. M. Walsh, Adm,, was present, at the invitation of tlie Committee. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr. N. Moloney, seconded by Mr. W, J. Hall — 1% That the address as read be engrossed." On the motion of Mr. W. J. Hall, seconded by Mr. J. B. Callar, Mr. F. W. Petre was appointed to read the address. After some discussion it was carried, on the propo ition of Mr. R. A. Dunne, seconded by Mr. W. J. Hall — " That the address be presented to his Lordship in St. Joseph's Church at seven o'clock on the evening of his arrival. It was carried, on the motion of Mr. N. Moloney, seconded by Mr. J. Daly, that a carriage and horses be provided for his Lordship on his arrival, to be driven by road from Port Chalmers to Dunedin, accompanied by aR many gentlemen of the congregation as would be enabled to do so. It was decided that gentlemen who could do so should give their names to Mr. T. Fitzgerald, who promised to arrange for any number of carriages required. A vote of thanks was carried on the proposition of Mr. J. J, Connor, to the Chairman, and also to the Bey. M. Walsh for the suggestions which he kindly gave. The Rev. Father during the evening stated that his Lordship would be received immediately on his arrival in Dunedin at St. Joseph's Church, where a Te Beum would b« sung, and the Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament take place, after which an address from the clergy would be presented to him.
