Two weeks ago there appeared tn the Pilot a lettei from Miss Fanny Parnell saying that there was a need in Ireland of women who could address public meetings and assist the national agitation. Miss Parnell has received letters from over a hundred ladies in this country, who volunteer to go to Ireland and perform this work, the majority refusing any salary. A license, at £1 per acre for seven years was allowed on the application of Robert Tuckey over part of section 26, block XIX., Tuapeka East, for the purpose of quarrying stone The following applications to purchase under deferred-pay-ment leases were approved :— Thomas Hand, sections 4 and 5, block 111 Benger : John Forrester, section 10, block 11., Mamototo ; F. S. Murchison, section 1, block IV., Waikaia ; W. Aitken, section 11 , block 1., Chatton.
