DUNEDIN. A meeting of the Committee appointed to make arrangements for giving His Lordship the Bishop of the Diocese a fitting reception on his arrival from Home, was held in the Christian Brothers' School, on the Bth inst.. Mr. F. W. Petre occupying the chair. Taeie were present Messrs F. Meenan, J. B. Callan, N. Smith, J. J. Connor, J. ¥. Perrin, M. Fagan, N. Moloney, J. Brennan, E. Carroll, Jas. Scanlan, D. W. Woods. J. Dramm, 0. Columb, E. Sheedy, W. Cunningham, P. F. Daniel, J. Milner, W. Lennon. C. Banbmy, T. Mcc, \I. Meenan, A. Toal, B. Whitty, Hus9ey, M. Mackay, W. Cantwell aud R. A. Dunne. Hon. Sec. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Messrs M. Fleming, E. Downey, Cahill, J. A. Macedo, B. S. Carlton, Jno. Griffien, T. J. Leary. J. H. Hall and Jno. Corrigan? After a long and animated discussion it was resolved on the motion of Mr. N. Moloney, seconded by Mr N. Smith — " That the collection in Dunedin be made from bouse to house, and also, that a collection be made at the Church door on a Sunday to be appointed with the permission of the llev. Father Walsh." It was proposed by Mr T. Mcc, seconded by Mr F. Meenan — i "That the clergy intn in the country districts be written to, asking their hearty assi&tanco and co-operation in their various parishes, for this collection." This motion was carried unanimously, and on the proposition of Mr J. J. Connor, seconded by Mr N. Moloney, Messrs F. W. Petre J.. ■ B. Callan, J. F. Perrin, F. Meenan. J. J. Connor, and the Hon. Sec. (R. A. Dunne), were appointed a sub-Committee tv carry out the resolutions of the Committee, Mr F. Meeaan to act as Hon. Treasurer. The meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the Chairman, moved by Mr. C. Columb aud seconded by Mr. J. B. Callan.
