MESSRS. M. BARDSLEY & SON'S SOAP MANUFACTORY, DUNEDIN.

14 u'T over twenty years since the above manufactory was first established, and the steady progress it has made during that period ♦w »* Well for the enter P ris > n g proprietors. We are pleased to find tbat Messrs. Bardsley and Son have supplied a much felt want here in tbe manufacture of fancy toilet soaps. Tbe very large amount of money which is annually drained out of New Zealand for such matters is something very considerable, and when we find manufactories springing up in our midst that can produce au article such as Messrs Bardsley and Son are now doing, which for fragrance of pertume, exquisite design, and good quality, certainly far exceeds the imported article, we feel assured that every encouragement will be given to them, especially by the ladies of New Zealand. Messrs M. J3arrtsley and Son inform us that they have spared no expense in getting the necessary plant and machinery for this department to make it a success, a large portion of tbe plant having been manutactured by a local firm, Messrs Anderson and Morrison, of this city, on whom it certainly reflects very great credit. We find also that .Messrs Bardsley and Son are manufacturing some very fine samples of common soaps, Amongst them we noticed a new brand call Prize 1 ale, which, being made from the very purest materials, will, we nave not the r lightest doubt, take well. Their old standard brands ot poap are also of very good quality and cheap in price. Messrs. tfardslcy and Son tell us that, with their present appliances they can turn out twenty tons per week, but as their premises are far too small to carry on their already extensive trade, it is their inteni ion to build more extensively, and also go iuto maDy other branches of tneir trade which are untouched at present.
