ST. BATHAN'S ROMAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL.

This school was examined on Monday, the 2iih Dec, in the presence of the Rev. Father Walsh, and other gentlemen and ladies who expressed themselves highly satisfied with the progress the children had made in all branches. After the examination prizes were distributed tovseveral of the children for proficiency, also for regular attendance and good conduct. The Sunday school children also received prizes, but more especially for their attainments in religious knowledge. After the examination the children were regaled with an ample supply of confectionery, fruit, &c, at the expense of the Rev. Father Walsh. The present school mistress (Miss Noonan) is generally beloved by the children, and has met with the thorough approval of the parents, who are extremely satisfied with their choice. • After spending a pleasant hour on the green in front of the schoolroom, the children were dismissed for the holidays— those present wishing them aH a Merry Christmas and H New Year.
